Traveller Type: family with young children
: Very friendly service staff during breakfast, friendly receptionist
: Never again - stay away! Once upon time in the past, the hotel was nicely decorated, with a different, individual charm - this drew me to book it for 2 nights, see hotel photos from another time, but in the past years it has been very much worn out and run down. It urgently needs renovation. I read it was loud, and we took earplugs, but experiencing it is beyond. It is like an Arabic disco in your bedroom until 1:00 am. Already four hours later the muezzin calls to prayer - the loudspeaker was about 5 meters from our window, it sounded like he was in our room, thankfully it only lasts 15 minutes. We were sleep deprived after the 2 nights. Lousy hygiene. Breakfast was OK-ish. Eggs and fresh orange juice was good, rest so so. Limited choice, expect a guesthouse type of breakfast, not what the pricing suggests. Thin coffee. Pricing: more expensive than the double rooms in most of the 5-star hotels like Fairmont, Ritz Carlton and the likes. Overall: a total ripoff. It is more a formerly nice, in urgent need for restauration tree star guest house and not the boutique hotel we were hoping for. Definitely not 5-star like the website suggests. Location: noisy has a new definition, expect little to no sleep. Difficult to get to by car. The receptionist kindly got us a taxi. To the hotel owner: the gentleman in the breakfast area is a very friendly person and the receptionist is also very helpful. But: do replace the carpets, paint the walls, invest in sound proofing the rooms, throw away those run down, cheap facilities in the bathroom, replace all appliances, invest in hygiene, rip out entire entrance and rebuild. Until full refurbishment, cut prices at least by half. I would rather go to the cookie cutter 5-star hotel chains that ever consider stay there again.
